Safari Ltd Maine Lobster

Also referred to as the Canadian lobster, true lobster, northern lobster, and the American lobster, the Maine lobster is very large lobster species that can weigh up to 45 pounds. It is the heaviest crustacean and arthropod living today.

History:

The Maine lobster can be found along much of the Atlantic coast of North America, ranging between North Carolina and the Canadian province Labrador. They are classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN and are fished regularly. However, since their population numbers tend to decline at the southern portion of their range, regulations and restrictions have been implemented to ensure they aren’t overfished in those areas.
