Just finished putting the Yak 52 together some more to do as i glued the too wing sides together i realised that i needed to fiberglass a 1 inch band around the too halfes so in prosess as off now. Other than that motor servos retracks all went in as it should with ARF. The detail in the covering is exellent all parts went together (rudder , elevator ) fine with hardware provided. All in all should be a exellent plane to fly and own. Ricky Gerada
1. The VQ retract struts are crap but can be fixed so they are not - use Robart struts instead. The retract units are OK.
2. This should have been built with flaps. I used an old wing to use as a template for flaps then built a set into a new wing - makes all the difference in landing.
3. This is an incredibly twitchy aircraft. You will need at least 50% expo on all surfaces to start.
4. I started with an OS 55 with a 12 x 6, 2 blade prop. But now I use a Saito 82b with a 12 x 6, 3 blade prop.
5. Check the glue on the canopy magnets and glue the canopy to the cockpit - screws WILL come undone.
6. Do not use the dummy engine - waste of time and slows airflow.
7.This is a great aircraft to fly. It's very responsive but can stall and drop a wing on takeoff if you do not have sufficient ground speed.
8. I wish VQ would make a 1.80 size.

10. Not for someone who is still learning - very unforgiving.
