History
The Blue Shark’s scientific name roughly translates to bluish-grey saw point. Given its serrated teeth and thin snout, one can see how it’s like a saw in the water. The shark is just one classification away from Least Concern because of the potential for overfishing on the eastern coast of the United States. Otherwise, populations are strong and the shark ranges nearly worldwide. They eat nearly anything, including squid, fish, sea birds, and octopi.
