What makes the Moebius 2001-8 Discovery an absolute triumph is its deliberate engineering simplicity. First of all, props to HTDirect for being a fantastic service.
Now, on to the model kit.
As a model builder I'm pleased that I bought this smaller scale version of the 2001 Discovery simply because it will fit on my display shelf just perfect once complete.
During inspection, the sprues look great with minimal flash, the kit parts are nicely detailed for their size and it seems like a straight forward build since a lot of the parts for the spine and cargo holds are repeated during the construction process as the instructions clearly say.
The front and rear bulkheads are the only areas of difference regarding size, details and preparation. There's even room to install small 3mm LED's or SMD's for lighting.
I wont go too much into detail as there are unboxing and build videos of this kit up on Youtube which will offer a more in-depth review.
A cute kit and a perfect size for a lazy weekend of model kit building.
Crisp moulding and lots of detail faithful to the movie. Looking forward to building it soon. Makes me want to get the larger kit in the future.
