The infamous Spinosaurus was a well equipped dinosaur that certainly ruled the wild. It grew to nearly 50 feet long and was well suited to fish for its food with its fearsome claws.
History:
Spinosaurus was discovered in 1912, but its only known remains were destroyed during World War II. It was known that it had a large sail on its back, but many elements were missing. Further remains revealed more about this dinosaur, and we now know it had a narrow skull reminiscent of its relative Suchomimus. Recently published material seems to reveal that Spinosaurus was a quadrupedal animal with much shorter hind legs than previously thought, though many paleontologists have questioned this and speculated that the recently described remains likely belong to two separate individuals instead of one animal.
